Video Input

Receives video over NDI or Syphon and converts it to vector laser frames in real time. Connect a camera, VJ software, or any video source and see it traced as laser lines.

Inputs

This node has no inputs. Source selection is done through the node's dropdown, which lists discovered NDI and Syphon sources.

Ideas

  • Feed a live camera into the laser for real-time silhouette tracing.
  • Connect Resolume, TouchDesigner, or any NDI/Syphon-capable VJ software for integrated visual workflows.
  • Use pre-rendered video loops as animated laser content.

Tips

  • The raster-to-vector conversion traces edges in the video. High-contrast source material with clear edges works best.
  • NDI sources are discovered automatically on the network. Syphon sources appear from applications running on the same Mac.
  • Complex video frames with many edges produce dense laser output. Simpler source material scans more cleanly.
  • Syphon is macOS only. On Windows, use NDI for video input.
  • File: static vector content from files
  • Colorize: override or blend the converted colors
  • Output: scale and position the video output
