Controls

  • Canvas: draw directly on the node. The node's tool strip has the same Select, Pencil, Pen, Line, and Eraser tools as a Draw layer. A new Draw node starts with an empty canvas and the Pencil ready.
  • Resize: drag the grip in the node's bottom-right corner to make the canvas bigger. Zoomed out, the canvas becomes a thumbnail; double-click it to zoom to the node.
  • Larger canvas: the button in the canvas's top-right corner opens a bigger canvas over the graph for detailed work.
  • Point budget bar: shows this drawing's share of the layer's points. It turns amber when the drawing needs more points than it gets.

Ideas

  • Drive Progress with a Phasor to draw it out on a loop. Add Trail below 100% so only a short stretch follows the head.
  • Put two drawings into a Frame Switch on Morph to reshape one sketch into another.
  • Wire an Envelope into Explode and trigger it from audio to burst the drawing apart on every kick.
  • Run the drawing through Camera Projection and animate Pan for a hand-drawn logo that turns in 3D.

Tips

  • Draw nodes wired to the Output share the layer's point budget, so merging several drawings never scans more points than one drawing would. Unwired Draw nodes don't use any.
  • Over a canvas, Backspace and Delete edit the drawing instead of deleting the node.
  • Right-click a Draw layer and choose Extract to Node Graph to move its drawing into a Draw node, with Progress, Trail, and the other settings carried over.
