  • Hold Shift while clicking BPM increase or decrease to change it in steps of 10.

Features

  • Strobe function make your clips strobe with one button and wow your audience! Tip: map it with MIDI.
  • New presets! We finally added more presets for you to start with. You can load this with File > Open Template….
  • The default MIDI map for the APC40 has been improved a lot with more sensible mappings.
  • It is now possible to remove a MIDI mapping by right-clicking on it.
  • Add Shortcuts > Reset mixer inputs to reset any Mixer input within the clip to 0.
  • When using Beyond, Modulaser now always outputs at 100% size (instead of default 30%) and ignores projection maps.
  • The sequencer can now go up to 24 times the BPM (previously 8).

Features

  • Import ILDA and vector files! Import .ild or .svg files and put modulators on top of them to make interesting figures.
  • Global color overrule; shift the colors in all your clips to another color with one knob. Ideal for live shows.
  • Projector profiles; modify how the laser outputs colors.
  • There is a "Test image" button now in the projection map settings now.
  • The clip thumbnail size can now be increased in the preferences.
  • Mark projection maps as favorite so you can quickly toggle between them during a live show.

Features

  • MIDI clock BPM sync! If you have a device that sends MIDI clock signals, we can now calculate the BPM from it! Enable it first in the preferences.
  • Mixer modulator; this is an advanced modulator to mix multiple signals together, invert them and apply smoothing to your inputs.
  • Blackout button; for when you want to really quickly toggle the laser output without disconnecting your DAC. Tip: use esc on your keyboard to toggle!
  • Press spacebar multiple times to sync the BPM.
  • Precise sequencer values; you can now enter an exact value for each sequence bar instead of only being able to drag the bars.
  • Duration between clips when using auto-play is now configurable in the preferences.
  • Double-click on a projection map name to change it.

Bugfixes

  • For some DAC's you had to press the "start DAC" button twice before it would actually send laser output.
  • The LaserDock DAC would only work for the first time, when you would start and stop it again there would be no laser output.
  • Fixed a weird issue with disappearing clips after a second file is opened.
  • Changing the BPM by typing a new BPM in the text field was nearly impossible.
  • Many bugs with ILDA recording have been fixed.

  • EasyLase, NetLase laser DACs are now supported (Windows-only).
  • Pangolin Beyond is now supported (Windows-only).
  • Connect multiple MIDI devices instead of previously only one.
  • The external display draws much nicer lines.
  • The external display now has a fullscreen mode, double click it to enter fullscreen.
  • Snap clips to the beat! Enable this first in the preferences. When enabled, it will wait to activate a clip until the beat starts again (based on BPM).
  • With the envelope generator, it is now possible to loop the hit button to another modulator.
  • Draw up to 10,000 lines instead of previously 1000 lines by using the x10 button (not recommended for lasers).

Bugfixes

  • The MIDI learn mode could be very slow and sometimes lead to a crash.
  • Projection map settings would not be applied at startup.

  • Added an envelope generator, use this to modulate things with temporary triggers like note or drum hits.
  • When using a projection map, points outside of this map are now always removed (overscan protection). This can be disabled in the projection map settings.
  • More MIDI mappings; it is now possible to map the "clear layer" and "A/B" layer buttons to your MIDI device.
  • Recording to an ILDA file now uses ILDA format 5 and works more reliable.

Bugfixes

  • The LaserDock output is more stable now (less flickering).
  • Ableton Link crashed on Windows in most cases.
  • A File->Exit program menu item was missing on Windows.
  • The Helios DAC did not close the shutter after stopping the DAC from Modulaser.
  • You no longer get rickrolled when you click on "Learn more".

  • Ever had trouble finding where you used e.g. LFO 3? Whenever you hover over a modulator, it will now very clearly show you where that modulator is used.

Bugfixes

  • The Helios DAC did not work with lasers that have a shutter (mostly lasers from the US as far as we know).
  • Sometimes using a MIDI controller could result in the app being very laggy.
  • The app now looks better with a small display or low resolution.
